Panpan Yang 楊槃槃 is currently an Assistant Professor in the arts and visual cultures of modern China at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her book, Animation Thinks: A Story of Media Entanglements in China, is scheduled to be published with University of California Press in autumn 2026 and is currently available for pre-order. The book examines how animation thinks – not "thinks about" or "thinks through" – time and space to a degree unimaginable in other art forms.
