Panpan Yang 楊槃槃 is currently an Assistant Professor in the arts and visual cultures of modern China at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. Her book Animation Thinks: A Story of Media Entanglements in China (University of California Press, 2026) is now out. The book examines how animation thinks – not "thinks about" or "thinks through" – time and space to a degree unimaginable in other media forms.
